Preparation stages – Dissertation and Thesis

The Master’s Degree and Doctorate scholarship recipients of the Post-Graduation Program in Neo-Latin Languages and Literatures must comply with the stages below, according to the schedule for the preparation of the Dissertation and the Thesis. The same stages and schedule are recommended for non-scholarship recipients.

The Doctoral Qualifying Exam must have taken place by the end of the fifth term.

 

Master’s Degree

  • 1st term: Project updated with schedule and literature review.
  • 2nd term: revised and extended project with schedule, literature review and theoretical-methodological chapter.
  • 3rd term: First version of the dissertation, with updated review, theoretical and methodological chapters and analysis chapter(s).
  • 4th term: complete rough draft.

 

 

Doctorate

  • 1st term: Project updated with schedule and literature review.
  • 2nd term: revised and extended project with schedule, updated review and part of the theoretical and methodological chapter.
  • 3rd term: Project updated with theoretical and methodological chapter and analysis chapter.
  • 4th term: First version of the text for the qualifying exam.
  • 5th term: Text for qualifying exam.
  • 6th term: Text for qualifying exam with the amendments suggested by the board of examiners (minimum 3 chapters).
  • 7th term: First version of the thesis containing all parts.
  • 8th term: Completed thesis.
