Master’s degree/ Doctorate

The Post-graduation Program in Neo-Latin Languages (PPNLL) and Literatures receives scholarship quotas for the Masters’ degree (2 years) and Doctorate (4 years) from CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) and CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) annually, which are assigned as follows: a) new program students, according to their classification in the selection process, their research project and the analysis of their updated Lattes CV with confirmation of their academic production; b) students already enrolled in the Program for more than one term according to their updated project, the analysis of their updated Lattes CV with confirmation of their academic production, their research report and their performance in the courses already taken.

Overseas Doctoral Sandwich Program – PDSE

The Doctoral Program in Brazil with a period of study overseas allows doctoral students, after completing their credits, to complement their research abroad, being hosted at universities or research centers overseas. The scholarship lasts from three months to one year, depending on the quotas available in each Program. To submit the application, PPNLL requires that doctoral candidates have been approved in their Qualification Exam.

Note: Proposals with the complete PDSE Grant application documentation must be sent directly to PPNLL 45 days prior to the first day of the online enrollment. The PPNLL Grants Committee will nominate an external consultant for the Candidate Selection Term with the expert’s opinion of the external consultant.


Domestic Post Doctorate Program – PNPD / CAPES

The Domestic Post Doctorate Program allows Doctors to carry out post-doctorate internships in stricto sensu Post-graduation Programs (PPG) certified by CAPES. PPNLL has a quota of this type of scholarship. One of its objectives is to promote the insertion of Brazilian and foreign researchers in post-doctoral internship programs, stimulating their integration with research projects developed by Post-graduation Programs.
